General

You must be 18 or over (or the legal age of majority in the jurisdiction where you live, whichever is older), fully vaccinated (see below for accepted vaccinations) and have a valid passport. You must also meet the full requirements listed in our T&Cs.
Volunteers must be available to travel and participate in the Program from March 1, 2022 – April 10, 2022. This includes the necessary quarantine in Chile and on Robinson Crusoe Island.
4 weeks on Robinson Crusoe Island. This is so you have enough time to impart knowledge and implement real change. You will also need to do an additional 7 days quarantine in Chile.
The finalists will be contacted to arrange an interview between 17th January – 21st January 2022. The interviews will take place between 24th - 28th January.
31st December 2021. This will allow enough time to process submissions, perform health, background, psychiatric checks, and interview semi-final candidates.
This is the best time to visit Robinson Crusoe Island. Expect 20°C / 68°F. Island weather is a bit temperamental, so best to pack for all seasons.

Travel Arrangements

It’s an island 400 miles (700km) off the West Coast of Chile. It’s part of the Juan Fernandes archipelago.
No. The cost of these will be covered.
We will do our best to cater for any disabilities or special requirements. However, this will need to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
You’ll be allocated lodgings in one of 3 different locations on the island: La Robinson Oceanic, Refugio Nautico Eco Lodge & Isla Pacifico Eco Lodge. This will be a single room in a shared house.
We are working to minimize the environmental impact of the project and are committed to the goal of Work for Humankind having a positive impact on the local ecosystem. This includes taking measures to minimize waste generated as part of this project.

20 hours per week. This can be done in a way that suits you. Before or after your normal work, in your lunch breaks, or over the weekend.
Yes. A good level of English is required. We need there to be clear interaction between applicants and the community.

Yes. 7 days in mainland Chile, followed by 3 days on Robinson Crusoe Island.
Yes. All applicants must be fully vaccinated by one of the approved vaccines in the jurisdiction where they reside. Pfizer-BioNTech, CoronaVac from Sinovac Life Sciences Co, AZD1222 developed by the AstraZeneca laboratory together with the University of Oxford, CanSino of Chinese / Canadian origin, Johnson & Johnson's Janssen Pharmaceuticals Companies, SPUTNIK V from the Gamaleya laboratory.
